Jason Giambi is coming to my Birthday party…

“Party like a rock star, hammer like a porn star, and hit like an All-Star.”

Jason Giambi came up with this quote back in the day when he was with the Oakland A’s, that is why I am inviting him to my birthday party.  I was talking to Big Mick about doing a blow out party for myself and inviting Axl Rose, the coolest human on the planet.  Since Axl is a recluse, there is no way in hell he’d come and if he did I would have to probably pay a couple million dollar appearance fee.  So, an even better idea is to invite the great Giambino.  The former MVP is one of my all time favorite Yankees, I’d invite Don Mattingly (who is my favorite player) but he won’t party like Jason.  Giambi is a down to earth, easy-going guy who loves his fans and partying, I think he would actually show up.  As you can see in the YouTube clip, he’s just hanging out with his fans, swarmed by hot chicks and loving every minute of it.  I read an article that he owns  a private plane so I won’t have to fly him out, I’ll just have to put him up at a local hotel.  I think this could happen, actually I am like 99% sure this going to happen.  I will have to be persistent, but I think this plan is nuts enough and Giambi is cool enough that it can. I have a few months to arrange this and I plan on getting the ball rolling soon by sending him an invitation.  I’ll keep everyone posted when I hear back from him.

Nips and Scratchies

Saturday was a legendary day/night that involved the Umass-Memphis game at the Gahhden. The drinking began at 2 for the 6PM game. Seth, 281, and 284 lived up to their boycott of The Fours and went to Grand Canal. Seth’s original plan was to pre-game and then go to Clarks to go see about a girl at 6. With the help of the cute manager, who another Umass alum was working on to build his stable, Seth was talked into attending the game in exchange for us agreeing to drink at Clarks postgame. We tried to go to the liquor store but the guy lied and was never back in 5 minutes. We found another store on Causeway and purchased nips and B’s scratchies. We did this in high school, college, and still do it now. Which leads me to my question of the night, is there ever a time in a man’s life where sneaking nips into a sporting event is unacceptable?

Back to the game, I had Umass +14, it was a 1 point Memphis lead a the half, and Seth put in a mini-rip on Memphis -7 1/2. Seth is a Umass alum with a history of losing betting against Umass. The history will be covered on another blog on another day. When Seth said he was taking UM, I decided to reverse rip Umass and the over 75. We all know what took place, Umass wins on a layup with .7 left that also put the 2nd half total at 76 so I hit the trifecta.

We won $8 on our 4 $2 tickets so I bought 4 more on our way to Clarks. We parlayed that into a $25 winner and I ran across the street to 7-11 to buy more. I ended up making a number of trips to the 7-11 and tipped the homeless guys with a portion of our winnings. Unfortunately, we never hit the big one, but the excitement of our $8 investment cannot be measured.
