The Masters. Outside of March Madness, the best 4 day sports weekend of the year. It’s finally here. The selections have been made. We have delivered in 2 of the last 3 majors. That’s better than the experts. Good luck.
Duce’s Picks of the Tourney
Favorite(other than Tiger): Paul Casey: 25-1 I love this guy. Seems like a solid dude. #3 in the world. He has won 10 times in Europe and how about 3 top ten finishes at Augusta? Top 20 last year and he’s always in the hunt. He will DEFINETELY be in the hunt on Sunday. He looks like an Umpa Loompa but he averages 290 off the tee.
Ernie Els: 12-1 This dude is hotter than Jessica Alba in Into the Blue . He’s been on fire this year and he’s no stranger to Augusta. In 4 straight years, between 2000-04 he finished no worse than 6th at The Masters. With the way he has played, it would be asinine to not consider him a favorite. Outside of Woods of course.
Middle: Rory Mcilroy: 50-1 This kid is an absolute beast. He finished 2009 ranked 9th in the world and he’s 21 years old. He played at Augusta last year as a 20-year-old. How did he do? How about 20th place and 3rd in driving distance. How about a 10th at the US Open? I’m putting a sizeable wager on this young lad from Northern Ireland. You know that half his winnings are buying RPG’s for the IRA. I’m cool with that. I have always supported the IRA.
Long shot: Andres Romero: 100-1– I have loved this guy ever since he made 10 birdies in one round at the British Open. He had a top 10 finish in 2008 and last year was #2 in driving distance. He’s ugly as holy hell but I don’t care because I’m not gay.
Other dudes I will be wagering on:
Tiger Woods: 4-1– We all know Tiger won’t be pounding any tail this week. To not throw at least some money on him is dumb. Here is why: He has won the Masters 4 times and at the ripe age of 21 he won at Augusta by 12 shots. He has won a US Open by 15 shots. That’s just plain silly. Enough said. As if you didn’t know Tiger was good.
Angel Cabrera: 66-1– Are you kidding me? The defending champion is really 66-1? Last year he was the pick of the tourney and he delivered. I’m deeply disturbed that he no longer smokes butts. Some people were just meant to be smokers. Just like Oprah was meant to be fat. Angel is long and shows up in Majors. I will never forget the bounce he got off that tree in the playoff. Best , most cluth bounce I have ever seen. Better to be lucky than good eh? Let’s not forget that this guy has won the US Open too. 66-1? A bargain.
Alvaro Quiros:66-1– this guy is a stud. He’s in the top 50 in world, finished 20th in the race to Dubai. He’s 26 years old and he’s known for being a sleazy, womanizer all over Europe. Not to mention, he won 3 times last year in Europe. Here’s the key with this dude. He picks up hot, slutty chicks AND by the way, he averages 310 yards off the tee. By far the longest hitter in Europe. I would think that would be a nice combo for Augusta. It’s worked for Tiger.
Matt Kuchar: 66-1- I have always liked this guy. Ever since he finished in 21st place as an 18-year-old Amateur. That’s impressive. That same year, he came in 14th at the US Open. The potential has always been there. He’s finally been playing well and he’s played Augusta plenty of times as he is Georgia Tech Yellow Jacket. Google his wife, you will know this dude has some serious game with chicks. That’s always enough for a bet.
Kenny Perry: 80-1- yes, Kenny is an old dude. Maybe it’s because he’s from Appalachian Kentucky and He has like 45 great grand children. It’s not his fault his kids were having kids when they were 11. Let’s not forget that the Gambler really should have won last year. I will gladly drop a couple bucks on him at 80-1. He’s long enough to be in the hunt and he is no where near as old as he looks.
Ross Fisher:66-1- This guy is a stud. He shows up in Majors. He came in 5th at the US Open and was on his way to winning the British with a two-stroke lead in the last round before catching a bad break. He knows how to win and expect him to be in contention on Sunday.
Trevor Immelman:150-1- yes, he’s been hurt. Yes, he’s South African. For all I know, he might still believe in Apartheid. However, you can’t argue with a guy who has gotten it done at Augusta before. 150-1? Gladly.
Tom Watson: 250-1 last year what he did at the British was one of the best sports stories of all time. You know that he can beat it with the young lads and he’s one of the best golfers of all time.
Stewart Cink: 80-1- this guy has been forgotten since he won the British. I follow him on Twitter and he’s a good dude. I would definitely drink a couple of beers with him. I think 80-1 here is a solid value. I always root for Stewart and he won us some money on the British last year and we haven’t forgotten.
Ryo Ishikwawa: 125-1- In Japan, this guy makes Dice K look like Shannon Doherty. The kid has Charisma and I like him. Worth a 3 dollar bet. Which is more than what Dice K is worth.
Lee Westwood: 22-1– Lee is always in the hunt in a major. He has to be bet on.
Other bets I’m making:
Rory Mcilroy to make the cut -300
Paul Casey to make the cut -450
30 unit play record: 64-39
NCAA Tourney 30 unit play record: 19-11
Tourney overall record: 30-23-2
College football bowl record: 17-10
