Small Forward Paul Pierce vs Ron Artest
Defense: You would think our captain who has been in the league for like 13 years would be a lot more mentally tough. Pierce gets so frazzled sometimes you would think he was a rookie. Ron Ron knows this and probably already knows exactly what he is going to say and do to get Pierce pissed, which might be his best defense against the Captain. Artest will be very physical and not allow to get to his sweet spot like he was able to do against Vince and Barnes on the Magic. The Celtics offense could be hindered significantly with Pierce being their best off the ball option.
Women and Stabbings:
Read this in your best Mark Jackson voice “You want to talk about toughness, you want to talk about being physically strong and tough? Let’s talk about the Truth the 2008 NBA Finals MVP who was stabbed 11 times and bottled over the head and lived to fight another day. Paul Pierce is a bad man and Ron Artest cannot handle the Truth”
Read this in your best Jeff Van Gundy high-pitched voice “Have you seen Ron Artest’s wife of four kids? Ugly, now that’s the Truth”
Advantage The Truth
Power Forward KG vs Paul Gasol
Pau is a better player at this stage in his career, but KG is the key to this series in my mind. I saw an interview where KG mentioned this dunk that Pau had on him back in the old Grizzly – TWolves days. The man is so intense and nuts that he is still remembers this and he probably has the film on loop in the locker room. KG reaches back for one more series run, and wills this team to number 18.
Advantage KG and the C’s
Please be reminded that this starting five has never lost a playoff series together.
Celtics game 1 +205
Celtics +170 for the series
Kevin Garnett Finals MVP +1250
