Long day doing the Clark Kent thing, want to get some last minute picks down on paper for tomorrow’s Tour event. Last week was a great tournement, the Ricky(ie)’s (Barnes and Fowler) choked hard and Justin Rose won for this first time on US soil, which I can’t believe. 10 years ago Rose was thought to be the white Tiger Woods, now he is on the wrong side of 20 and finally captured his first win. Overall great weekend of golf, I could watch Rickie Fowler any day, he’s pretty sick. He had play the next day to qualify for the US Open and fell short, too bad. Barnes on the other hand has a terrible swing and follow through, he looks like me tee’ing off, and is real good at choking, i.e 2009 US Open. On to this week…
Don’t adjust your television set you won’t be seeing double this weekend at the TPC Southwind in Memphis Tennessee for the St. Jude Classic event. Camilo Villegas’s will be paired up with his equally ugly and younger brother Manuel Villegas. Still pretty cool that the two get to paired up. Brian Gay is the defending champ, the field is pretty lackluster as most of the players are resting for the US Open at Pebble Beach. Going with these chumps…
Brian Gay +1850, defending champ and 3 top 10’s this year.
Charl Schwartzel +2500, the South African native doesn’t play in the US that often, but he plays well when he does. 3 Top ten’s in 6 events in 2010 and came in 30th at his first Masters. Owns two wins on the European tour in 2010 as well
Ian Poulter +2500, His best friend won last week and Poulter’s a bit of a prick so he probably want’s to show him up. He’s been active on Twitter this week and so I know that he has been hanging out with John Daly a couple nights, probably not a good thing to do before an event.
David Toms +1500, Taking one old guy for good measure. Toms won this event in back to back years 03′ & 04′. He’s a guarantee to finish in the top Twenty Five or to miss a cut, he has done both 4 times this year.
