I’m pretty spent right now from work and the daily bullshit of dealing with muppets while I try to sell highly sophisticated space parts to NASA. I know that’s no excuse, it’s almost football season, and I need to get back into blogging shape. This week the Tour stops in Akron, Ohio, a place I hope to never visit for a WGC event. What is the actual goddamn name of this event? It depends what you read, talk or listen to. All week I’ve read people referring to is Firestone and some call it Bridgestone. For the record the official PGA Tour event page calls it the Bridgestone Invitational at Firestone Country Club. To most players and fans of the Tour the event is really known as Tiger’s Bitch. He owns this place and coincidentally he makes his triumphant return to the Tour this weekend. Tiger has won at Fire…err…Bridgestone 7 fucking times. Most players don’t win that many events in a career. My eyes are bleeding Tiger red from staring at a computer all night, I’m gonna roll with these guys.
Tiger +1250 – He’s back. The red Polo, gleaming white teeth, club throwing and now a beard? I almost went all in on Tiger, but I’ll instead I’ll give him a week until I start betting heavy on him.
Matt Kuchar +1700 – Hasn’t won yet this year, while 12 other first time winners have. Bet him until he wins, it’s worth the investment, he has 8 top 10s.
Bubba +2600 – Big hitters historically do well in Akron
Zach Johnson +3750 – The former Master champion is a consistent top 20 finisher at this event, I’ll take him as my long shot.
