Exodus 35:2 says “Six days shall work be done but on the seventh day there shall be to you an holy day a sabbath of rest”. I’m not a god fearing man, but I believe in Karma and if God says you are not supposed to work on Sundays then eventually that will bite you in the ass. He was a good college QB because he was worked on Saturdays. Why do you think Chick-fil-A is so damn good, they know better and close down shop on Sunday. My 4pm bets…

Patriots -7 @ Denver – The run stops today. Tom Brady is 1-5 career against Denver and all week BB has been subtly in his ear. “Tom, Tebow is getting all the press and he has no rings…you want the post game to be all about him or you??” The Pats secondary is terrible we all know this, but there hasn’t been an offense as good as the Pats that is able to keep the Broncos offense off the field since the Lions. The Lions won that game 48-10. Way too many people worried about this game, I’m not. If god really was on the players side, he’d be against Brady, the dude had a kid out-of-wedlock, then dumped Bridget Moynahan when she got fat…sinner. I rarely predict scores, but here is one for you Patriots 35 – Jesus 13. Bet the Pats.

Raiders & Lions o/u 47 – The Lions are the new Raiders. The Raiders are still the Raiders. Both teams make a ton of mistakes, Carson should give one or maybe two back. The high scoring 4pm game that almost hits by half. Bet the OVER 47.

Good luck,

I’m a little late to it today, so I missed the Temple – Wyoming start. Going forward I will post all of my Bowl Season bets, weather permitting. I’ll also update my record to see how I do this Bowl Season. My standard way of betting Bowl games is using the better conference theory, teams with more upperclassmen or a core group who has played in a few bowl games, plus I like teams that fade towards the end of year because the line will be inflated. There is a week until Christmas (Hanukkah may have started) so I’ll do my best to bring everyone some extra holiday cash to blow. Here are my first bets of the Bowl Season as I enjoy a Panino and Eggnog; on a crisp, but I’ll take it, December Saturday in Boston.

Famous Idaho Potato Bowl, 5:35 pm Ohio vs Utah State -PK – I like this game a lot. Ohio lost a heart breaker in the MAC Championship to No. Illinois, a game which will feature Umass next season. Utah State hasn’t been to a bowl game is the late 90s and Ohio has played in three consecutive Bowls (all three loses) but they play 17 seniors in this game. Mickey Tettleton’s son Tyler Tettleton , who is only a sophomore, is a stud. He can throw and run. A check goes to Ohio for the better conference theory. Utah State had a nice run at the end of season, but those wins were against the countries worst football teams, San Jose State, Idaho and New Mexico State. Bet Ohio in a PK, most sites have them getting points.

New Orleans Bowl, 9:05 pm UL Lafayette vs San Diego State -5 – Tough one to pick. At first you almost have to bet UL-Lafayette who are playing a home game and getting points. The Cajuns also were weak down the stretch and a 7 game win streak (I’ll throw my theory of  late season fades) because SDSU has a 4 year starter at QB and one of the top RBs in the country, Ronnie Hillman, watch for him today. They also played in a Bowl game last year and rolled Navy. I’ll give the 5 points here and bet the experienced SDSU Aztecs.

Good luck and be sure to pace yourselves my degenerate friends.

Seth’s 2011-2012 Bowl Record 0-0

It feels good to be back to normal. I looked at the blog feed and it’s been some time since I’ve contributed.  Like I mentioned earlier today I’ve been deathly ill with no hot nurse to take care of me, I even put out a Craigslist ad try to pull one into the Big Rips lair. Of course to no avail. Before you say “Seth you’re a pussy it was probably just the flu” well it wasn’t and I don’t go down easy either. The last time I was sick and took days off was the week of July 4th 2005, trust me I have an elephant’s memory. The best way I can describe how I felt is this – imagine having the flu and your worst hangover after drinking cheap Red Bull vodkas for a night. That’s what I got.

Over the past few weeks some really positive things have happened.

1) The NBA lockout ended the Greatest Bar does not have to shut down! My early NBA MVP bets (put them in today) Kevin Love +1800 and John Wall +4000.

2) Ryan Braun won the MVP, a nice pay-day, but more of a moral victory.

3) Bobby Valentine was hired as the Red Sox Manager, this is great for a Yankees fan living in Boston, he’s a walking soundbite.

4) The Human Centipede 2 is on iTunes.

5) Danny Ainge took my theory and is dangling Rondo for Paul (I’ve been talking about this for a year) a move that makes the Celtics immediately better and puts us in a position to go after Dwight Howard next summer, IF we can sign Chris Paul to a deal…with Danny and Doc this can happen, just need to get the trade done. I can go on for hours about this, call me if you want to discuss/debate.

On to some bets as I put back a Peroni and some gnocchi on a surprisingly pleasant December evening.

8:30pm Eagles -2 1/2 @ Seahawks – Does the NFL Network ever put on a decent Thursday night game? I feel like it’s always a game that features one of the following teams, J’Ville, Denver, Oakland and Tennessee. Along with a bad match-up you are subjected to horrible coverage. Get ready to not see a Punt return for a TD by Leon Washington, because the Network needs to make sure you see the promo for their new Deion Sanders and Mooch cooking show.  This game has zero implications, both teams are done, the only purpose to them playing it betting and fantasy football purposes. I’m betting a parlay Eagles -2 1/2 under 44. I’ve tried the bet the ‘Hawks because they are good at home” thing, but failed. Straight up the Eagles are better even with Vince. They are a top 15 defense and have the best running game in the league. Tarvaris Jackson is ailing and if he goes Mick’s boy Charlie Whitehurst who couldn’t even start for Clemson now, will be in the game. Bet the Eagles 2 1/2 and the under 44.

Also betting Vince Young longest pass completion OVER 35 1/2 – DeSean Jackson on a catch a run from Vince, this happens

Good luck,

Welcome to December. This is marks my return from a mini-hiatus from Big Rips. I’ve been very ill the last few weeks and  haven’t been able to keep my head up to blog research and bet for that matter. I’ve bet a few games since I’ve gone into obscurity, but with not much success. I’m feeling better and I’m ready for a tune up before Bowl Season gets underway (my favorite time of the year to bet) and the NFL stretch run. Be back later with a Thursday night winner.

It’s been the year of the Chalk. I’ve been waiting for a weekend when everyone gets burned. NFL teases fail, the Top 10 CFB teams don’t cover or win and the obvious high scoring games go way under. If you’ve been betting the top consensus games on Wagerline.com then your book has probably been paying your mortgage each month this sports betting season. No one, not even Ace Rothstein could handicap this season. I’m going to try to stay consistent It’s like playing black jack at 3rd base all night, pick a strategy. If you are going to hit on 16 then hit on 16. Don’t waffle and pick and choose your moves. Here is my early picks as you enjoy your coffee and Pizzelle on another fine October morning in the Land of Milk and Honey…

12:05 pm Oklahoma State @ Missouri +7 1/2 – The Sooners have the 100 worst defense in the country, Mizzou has a top 15 Defense and a top 30 Offense. All three of their losses were on the road to top level teams – KSU, ASU and Oklahoma  – they were competitive in all three. The are getting much better on defense as Sheldon Richardson is starting which should stop the run and last week against Iowa they committed zero penalties. As good as Oklahoma State is on offense they converted a lousy 17% of their 3rd downs. Not a good stat when you are on the road playing a very good defense. Bet Mizzou +7 1/2

Good luck,

Sorry for the brief post. My Guy’s site is down and I’m on the phone with an offshore guy who doesn’t know who T.Y. Hilton is.

When CFB delivers a Tuesday game there is only two bets, the OVER and the Favorite. To make the Sun Belt Conference games interesting I think all games should be on Weekday nights, it makes the week fly by.

I’m betting the over 54 points for entertainment purposes only and taking my boy T.Y. Hilton OVER 6 receptions for the same reason. Hey it’s on ESPN and it beats some bad network TV and work emails.

Good luck,

A new week and more free money for all tonight in the MNF game. We’ll need it as the cost for a jar of peanut  butter is about to increase by 30%-50%. Have you all heard about this yet?  I’ll write about this tomorrow. As for tonight’s game I am going to roll with these bets.

Miami @ The  Jets -6 1/2 – I thought long and hard about teasing this but didn’t want to mess with the O/U. I think the Jets crush the Fins. A “need to win game” for Miami coming off a bye doesn’t mean shit to me. They have a QB with fringe NFL talent in Matt Moore and the 31st worst pass defense in the league. They have no running threat so Rex Ryan should be able to focus on stopping B. Marsh and Bess. Bet the Jets

Shonn Greene OVER 65 1/2 rushing yards – Ryan is committed to going back to Ground and Pound now that he realized Sanchez sucks. It’s promising that Greene got the ball over 20 times last week, I like one big run from him to seal this by the 3 quarter. Bet the over

Good luck,
