I’m a little late to it today, so I missed the Temple – Wyoming start. Going forward I will post all of my Bowl Season bets, weather permitting. I’ll also update my record to see how I do this Bowl Season. My standard way of betting Bowl games is using the better conference theory, teams with more upperclassmen or a core group who has played in a few bowl games, plus I like teams that fade towards the end of year because the line will be inflated. There is a week until Christmas (Hanukkah may have started) so I’ll do my best to bring everyone some extra holiday cash to blow. Here are my first bets of the Bowl Season as I enjoy a Panino and Eggnog; on a crisp, but I’ll take it, December Saturday in Boston.

Famous Idaho Potato Bowl, 5:35 pm Ohio vs Utah State -PK – I like this game a lot. Ohio lost a heart breaker in the MAC Championship to No. Illinois, a game which will feature Umass next season. Utah State hasn’t been to a bowl game is the late 90s and Ohio has played in three consecutive Bowls (all three loses) but they play 17 seniors in this game. Mickey Tettleton’s son Tyler Tettleton , who is only a sophomore, is a stud. He can throw and run. A check goes to Ohio for the better conference theory. Utah State had a nice run at the end of season, but those wins were against the countries worst football teams, San Jose State, Idaho and New Mexico State. Bet Ohio in a PK, most sites have them getting points.

New Orleans Bowl, 9:05 pm UL Lafayette vs San Diego State -5 – Tough one to pick. At first you almost have to bet UL-Lafayette who are playing a home game and getting points. The Cajuns also were weak down the stretch and a 7 game win streak (I’ll throw my theory of  late season fades) because SDSU has a 4 year starter at QB and one of the top RBs in the country, Ronnie Hillman, watch for him today. They also played in a Bowl game last year and rolled Navy. I’ll give the 5 points here and bet the experienced SDSU Aztecs.

Good luck and be sure to pace yourselves my degenerate friends.
